Yes. Your cart will need very minimal service, but the small things you do now will prolong the life of your cart.
Daily: Charge batteries fully.
Weekly:
- Checking tire pressure (24 PSI for Lifted & 30 PSI for Non-Lifted carts)
- Check all lights (headlights, taillights, turn signals)
- Horn operation
Monthly:
- Check and fill battery water levels (serviceable batteries only, distilled water only)
- Clean battery terminals of corrosion and apply anti-corrosive spray/gel
- Tighten battery terminal connections (95–100 in. lbs)
Yearly: Schedule your yearly service with your ICON dealer for critical fluid changes, greasing the front end and serviceable fittings, electrical checks, overall inspection, and tire rotation.
A 19mm or a 3/4 socket will work to remove your lug nuts.
The ICON bolt pattern is a 4X4. 4-bolt patterns are measured in a straight line from center to center of two bolt holes sitting directly across from each other.
The thread of the lug studs is a standard size: 1/2X20.
Lug nuts should be torqued to 55–65 FT LBS. They should also be tightened in proper sequence.
Yes. All ICONs come standard with a universal ignition. However, a unique key option is available through your dealer.
No. Currently there is no way to lift or lower carts beyond the original configuration. The frame structures of the lifted and non-lifted carts differ, making parts non-interchangeable. Changing tire size may affect ride height, but suspension height remains unchanged.
The first step is to try resetting the cluster. If that doesn’t work, contact your dealer for a replacement unit.
Cluster Reset Procedure:
- With the key OFF, plug in the charge cord and wait for the charge indicator to turn green.
- Wait 10 seconds, turn the key ON, wait 10 seconds, then turn the key OFF.
- Unplug the cart and turn the key ON. The gauge should reset to 100%.
- If this doesn’t work, contact your dealer to replace the gauge cluster.
AGM Batteries: Covered for 2 years.
Lithium Batteries: ECO Lithium Batteries have 8 years coverage (3 years full replacement, 5 years prorated).
Lead Acid: Not currently installed in new carts but FAQs include info for older models.
Exclusions:
- Lack of maintenance
- Undercharging the battery regularly
- Failure from external electrical issues
- Tampering with charger or its algorithms
Note: Only ICON’s proprietary ECO Lithium battery is approved. Using other brands voids warranty.
Park within reach of a dedicated outlet. Avoid sharing circuits with appliances like refrigerators.
Plug into the wall, then into the cart. The indicator light shows charge status (red → yellow → green).
Do not unplug until fully charged (green).
You can leave it plugged in – the charger auto shuts off when done, but doesn’t trickle charge.
Yes. New batteries are at ~75% strength. First 10–20 full charge/discharge cycles are crucial.
- Fully charge the cart until it shuts off automatically
- Discharge to ~75%
- Repeat charging process
- By the 12th cycle, performance improves significantly
Important:
- Never go below 50% charge
- Recharge every 2 weeks if idle
Yes. All batteries self-discharge. AGM and lead acid types lose ~4%/week at 80°F.
Yes. Discharged batteries freeze more easily. Fully charged = freeze point at -92°F; 40% charge = ~16°F.
- Charge slowly and regularly
- Recharge after every use
- Use distilled water and maintain correct water levels
- Keep batteries cool – heat shortens lifespan
- Keep discharge cycles shallow (20–50%)
- Heat or overcharging
- Undercharging or extended storage
- Excessive vibration
- Freezing temps
- Using tap water (use distilled only)
- Corrosion from high temps
No. AGM and lead acid batteries don’t develop memory. You don’t need to fully discharge before recharging.
AGM Pros:
- Fast charging, deep discharge, spill-proof, vibration-resistant, performs in cold
AGM Cons:
- Can overcharge easily, must stay charged, shorter lifespan in heat
ICON Lithium Benefits:
- 105 Amp, 51V, LIMP tech, 8-year warranty, real-time voltage tracking, seamless integration
Important: Only ICON ECO Lithium batteries are authorized. Others void warranty.
For serviceable batteries only: Always water after charging. If plates are exposed, cover with water before charging. Use distilled water only.
Electrolyte level should be 1/8″–1/4” below the bottom of the fill tubes. Only use distilled water.
If no overflow: stop filling and leave it. If there is overflow: it’s acidic – clean carefully with a rag and wear gloves. Avoid skin contact.
